SINGAPOREAN CULTURE

A country described as “East meets West”, Singapore is a melting pot of Asian and European cultures.

Hawker centers are a prominent cultural presence around Singapore.

They are constantly packed day and night, filled with the local gossip, revelry, and delicious local cuisine. This cuisine stems from the inter-mingling of different ethnicities, which has inspired fusions and created unique delicacies.

Hawker centers double as a community center. This is where people gather to hang out, eat and engage in boisterous conversations.

Singapore is one of the cleanest countries in the world.

Through enforcement of fines and a culture of discipline and respect for the environment, Singaporeans maintain an exceptionally clean city. A few restrictions are as follows:

  • No Possession of Chewing Gum
  • No Jaywalking
  • No Smoking in Public Places
  • No Urinating or Spitting in Public.
  • No Littering
  • No Fighting
